Welcome back folks for Weekly Debrief number two! However this week we plan on trying to keep things short and sweet as it’s coming to you from the choppy Irish Sea. It’s race weekend and as I write this courtesy of Stena Line’s slightly slow and infrequent WiFi we’re heading across to Britain for rounds seven and eight of the Husqvarna ACU British Sprint Enduro Championship. It maybe only May but already we’re entering the penultimate weekend of the championship. With the big man himself David Knight sitting on the sidelines due to injury, it’s now become anybody’s game to take home this year’s crown but the person in the best position possible to capitalise on Knight’s poor luck must be Fast Eddy Racing’s Tom Sagar.

Electraction TM's Jordan Scott
Of home grown interest, Irish eye’s look to Gordon Clarke our sole Elite class campaigner. Clarke’s been turning many heads this year in the BSEC but his form has been improving rapidly of late when a visit to the EWC GP of Portugal resulted in a 9th fastest time in the Extreme test. No mean feat against the world’s best riders! Next up is Jordan Scott (as already mentioned in the BSEC preview) the Electraction TM rider sits 3rd overall in the Under 19 but is well in the hunt for the Under 19 E1 top honours. Posting a couple of third fastest overall test times at the previous round, Scott’s ready to step up and take a win. Finally rounding the Irish trio is Robert Lynn. Running Expert division, Robert will be hoping for a better string of results this time out. New recruit Richard Topping of the TSR KTM fraternity will be popping his enduro cherry as he takes his place on the BSEC start line and tries his hand at riding between the trees.
After the hectic wind down of the Irish Enduro championship at Glendalough, last weekend was a time-out for most riders. Some however kept themselves busy.
First up, HTM Husaberg’s Sheamus “Shamur” Muldoon headed across the water for a round of the British Enduro Championship, t’up North of England. A traditional style bog-hopping affair was the order of the weekend that tested every ounce of the rider’s ability. Keeping the ‘Berg above the bog, Sheamie rode home to 19th in Clubman. Our adopted Irishman Andy Reeves toughed out a well earned 18th overall in Expert.
C loser to home, top-dog in Glendalough, Paul McLoughlin was on motocross duty for round four of the Great StuffCatering Southern Centre championship at a very dry, dusty, stoney and windy Gormanston Motoparc. Entering the day leading his class, events didn’t work out to plan as a non-finish in the final race hampered his day but still leaves him still in touch for the championship.

The Dirtyhabits crew of Tsar Sheane, Mick O’Leary and David McNulty donned the lycra for a schooling in trials riding. With a good day had by all, they plan on making a return to the “feet up” trials world.
Regs and entry forms are now available for the next round of the Irish Enduro Championship at Mt Leinster. With a revised course for this years event being organised things are shaping up nicely of a good day’s racing
