Rising off-road star KTM Off-Road Racing’s Jonny Walker has won the Iron Man Extreme Enduro in blistering fashion. Fresh off his supercross debut last weekend at the opening round of the British Supercross Championship, Walker returned to familiar territory to compete in the extreme enduro event at the Harwood Dale venue in North Yorkshire, England. A natural woodland course containing boulder filled gulleys, steep descents, rock slabs, river crossings and several man made obstacles there was just about everything needed to challenge any rider and with a 90-minute morning qualifying race followed later in the day with a two-hour Extreme Enduro it would be anything but an easy day in the saddle for the KTM rider.

Making light work of qualifying race, Walker took control of the race from the very beginning with a holeshot. With a clear track he quickly opened up a lead of over two-minutes on lap one as behind him Pro-motocross riders Jamie Law and Jake Nichols battled with veteran extreme rider Wayne Braybrook.
Now looking a heavy favourite for the main event, Jonny’s race would get off to the worst poossible start after he collided with another rider entering the first corner. Fortunately neither rider or bike was damaged and Walker remounted towards the back of the pack. Within a lap Jonny was back in control passing every rider except for Braybrook. By lap two he had worked his way to the front, opening up a commanding two-minute lead, which he improved to nearly four-minutes by the one hour mark. In the final half of the race Jonny rode steady to keep a safe distance over Braybrook and took the win of the first running of the Iron Man Enduro.
