Reacquainted with a TM 250 2T for the first time since 2005 and now in the sport of enduro as against motocross,  Electraction TM’s Jordan Rose had an impressive start to the  2012 Husqvarna ACU British Sprint Enduro Championship season opener held in very sub zero conditions at Aldershot, Hampshire last weekend culminating in a third place Elite class finish on Sunday .

Riding cautiously in the slippery conditions, Jordan recorded consistent top six positions throughout round one on Saturday only to have his result ruined on lap four when dropping into a rut the rear chainguide smashed against a protruding concrete block ripping off the chain and jamming the guide. Continuning on, Jordan eventually finished in 15th.

Determined to make amends for Saturday’s ill luck, Jordan immediatley set the fastest Elite times on test one and two but on test three pushing a little harder, Jordan missed a gear dropping into the first bombhole and landed at the bottom in neutral. A trip over the handlebars cost him a considerable amount of time and dropped him down to third overall. With the test number cut short to five and despite recording the second fastest time on remaining two special tests, Jordan ended his day third overall just two seconds adrift second position.

Jordan Rose: “With the slippery conditions it was difficult to judge how hard to push so I settled for a steady pace. Obviously I am disappointed about Saturday but it was just one of those things. I also felt I was riding very stiff on Saturday and was not particularly happy about my riding even though the times were quite good.”

“Sunday I rode much more relaxed and my times were good without pushing too hard in the conditions. I simply hooked the gear lever in error before the first bombhole on lap three and shot over the bars when I landed in neutral; that time loss cost me a few places which I could not make up on the last two runs but it was close run. It’s been a positive start to the season and I now know that I have the pace to run up front. I’m looking forward to the next round of the BSEC in four weeks time where hopefully I can continue to improve”
