The first round of the Adult Ulster Motocross Championship started at the former Grand Prix circuit of Desertmartin, Northern Ireland. The track was once again prepared to Grand Prix standard with a great crowd turning out to watch the super racing put on by the competitors.
Round one was attended by British Championship rider Graeme Irwin riding his Samsung Yamaha 250f where he stormed away to a perfect day with quickest qualifying time by over 2 seconds and finishing with 3 wins both in the MX2 category as well as overall as the MX2 and MX1 where combined in the same race. Winning the MX1 category was Wayne Garrett riding his JAR Honda. Wayne was returning from injury and was pleased to take 1-2-1 scores and said the day boosted his confidence.
