SECOND ROUND OF THE MX2 WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP IN BULGARIA

Biandronno, 18th April 2012 – The second round of the MX2 World Championship takes place this weekend at the superb Sevlievo track in Bulgaria. Over the years Sevlievo has earned its place as perhaps the finest circuit that the world of motocross has to offer, and has always been lucky for the Husqvarna colours. In fact, it was Sevlievo that played host to Husqvarna’s last victory in a world motocross race – 23rd June 2002 – with Alex Puzar on his Husqvarna CR 125.

A tough, speedy, jump-filled course ideally suited to both the riders of the Husqvarna Motocross Team By Ricci Racing, and the new Husqvarna TC250.

Alex Lupino and Loic Larrieu, in the fortnight since the last race, have gone back to the hard, technical and fast terrain that is their speciality.

Alex Lupino: “Sevlievo is a track that I like. Let’s hope that the weather holds up and it doesn’t rain like it has done all this week in Italy. I feel great and have been giving 100% in training on the track near Parma. I want to put in a good race, and above all not jeopardize everything in Saturday’s qualifying round like I did in Valkenswaard.”

Loic Larrieu: “I really like the Sevlievo track. It’s hard and there are a lot of jumps. Physically, I feel good and I’m making great progress with the handling and speed. I’ve been training over the weekend at the St. Jean d’Angely track, which is very similar to that of Sevlievo and I’ve got on really well there. I’m looking forward to the weekend.”

Ilario Ricci – Team Manager : “I’m confident in the riders and our bikes. I’m sure the Bulgarian track will be well-suited to our riders. The team has worked well over the last fortnight. Now, we’ve got two important GPs back to back (Bulgaria and Italy) where it’ll be crucial to get good results.”
