Another brilliant sixth place of Alessandro Lupino in the second heat of the third round of the MX2 World Championship which took place at the beautiful circuit of Fermo, where this weekend the Motocross GP of Italy was held.

After an eighth place in the Saturday qualify race, Alex Lupino wanted to show in front of his home crowd that he can consistently finish in the top ten of the world rankings, after his great performance in Bulgaria. Unfortunately, the rider of the Husqvarna Motocross Team by Ricci Racing was very unlucky in the first lap of the first race where a crash immediately after the start forced him to plough through the field from last place to the final 14th position.

In the second heat Lupino managed to move well from the starting gate, being in fifth place after the first lap. On his Husqvarna TC 250 Alex was able to keep up with the top of the field, only Tixier was able to overtake him. Lupino fastest lap was recorded in the last lap of the 2nd race showed that Alex never gave up.

Also Frenchman Larrieu was satisfied, after gaining championship points in both races for the first time in this year’s season.

Alex Lupino: “Too bad I cannot do two heats with constant results. Race one was ruined by a dropped band after the start. Then I made up my mind for a good second heat where I proved that I’m fast and I’m able to keep the pace of the leaders. Even on the last lap I set my best race lap time! I should try to start always well because this is the only way how I can get in the fight for the top five positions. However I am happy!”

Loic Larrieu: “I struggled all the weekend to find the right setup for my bike. I scored championship points in both races, but I can do much better. Now I prefer to concentrate on developing the bike further based on my riding characteristics and on the French Championship, which is next weekend,  where I still have the chance to win the title! ”

Ilario Ricci – Team Manager: “I am pleased with the races. Finally, both riders finished in the points, but most important is that we are getting closer to the top positions. Lupino has proven that he is fast and that the bike has improved in the last months. Now we are looking forward to the trip to South America where we have want to reach even better results. ”
