TMC Honda’s secures the Ulster MX2 Championship at the final round of the series in Thinkerhill, Newry, July 28…
The final round of the Ulster Championship was staged last Saturday in Tinkerhill track in Newry and Team TMC Motox’s John Meara was one of the strongest contenders for top spot as he started the day 16 points ahead but then its never over till the fat lady sings.
Full of confidence, John got off to a great start in qualifying, getting 4th spot only .4 of a second behind 1st place and fastest mx 2 bike on the track by 2 seconds and getting a great pick of the gates.
The first race was awesome for John with him having a savage battle to mid race but then pulling away to take the win.
Race 2 was a tough one with a bad start and breaking his back brake lever in a rut on a corner but hard work pays off and he took the win.
Race 3 was a dramatic one with John crashing while trying to avoid a fallen rider while in 3rd place but a quick restart and some hard laps awarded him with 3rd.
John finished the day 28 points ahead and one very happy camper.
John 1—1—3 and Ulster Champion
