Kilworth Enduro on next weekend 29/06/2014

Hi Guys ,

The Kilworth “ Branch Dodgers” Enduro is on next weekend . Always a good event and one of the TORC clubs original forestry time card enduros it has been the scene of many a good battle over the years .  Going back a number of years such riders as Robert Davidson, Adrian Lappin ,  Stanley Callaghan , Vinny Fitzsimon have all been victorious and the results were always close . More recently , local man PauL Mc cartly has had his hands on the top spot . Paul is not riding at the moment , so the 2014 event is open to a new winner .

With three wins from three starts  Charles Stuart ( TM 250) from the top tip of N . Ireland will again start as favourite but Enduro .IE hears that Gordon Clarke ( TM 250)  may make a comeback at Kilworth and that could shake the box a bit . David McNulty ( 250 BETA)  is having a good season and the forestry going at Kilworth may be more suited to his style so he cannot be ruled out . Seamy Hayes ( KDX 200) Yes !  is definitely showing that skill and not the newest bike is still to the fore in enduro . Seamy is showing a clean pair of heels to the youngsters . Expect Robert Regan to improve on recent results. Our bet ….. Stuart  even if Gordon rides as time on the bike counts.

For the seniors again Dave McMahon( 250 KTM) should wrap it up. Behind David it’s a choice that could go a lot of ways … Dave Creen ( 300 GG ) is always steady , Paul Walsh ( 250 KTM) is there abouts and Ger O’Grady ( KTM ), Ciaran Hayes ( YZ 250) , Tom Regan (KTM) will plug in steady times .  Our Bet …. Dave McMahon from Ger O’Grady .

Clubman …. Anthony Kearns ( KTM ) should have the measure of this one but may be pushed by John Agnew ( KTM ). John is along time at the game , is very fit and steady . JP Ryan and Ivan Mc Laughlin will not be far away provided they all stay upright . Maybe we will see a local rider come out of the woodwork ….. Our Tip ….. Kearns  from Ryan .

For those who may follow our site, we omitted to include a sportsman class in our preview for Kilworth. Unintentional as we were of the opinion that only 3 classes would be included in this IC event. Apologies to all sportsman Riders who do of course make up a large proportion on any entry and as followers of Enduro we do appreciate that fact.

AS we pointed out without any access to entry lists we do our best by talking to riders to find out what is happening and who may be participating.

For the Sportsman, Eddie Doolan (Yam?) is an odds on favourite to win with times that will probably be good enough for a top six in the clubman class. Behind Eddi,   Gavin Ryan (KTM), Ken Doherty (HVA), Keith Farrell (CRF) and Colin Rooney (?)  Will likely fill the rest of the podium and down to 5th. Once again it may be a case of who finishes clean on time and who finishes particularly if the weather turns sour. WE hope not.  Our Tip…. Eddie Doolan from Keith Farrell and Ken Doherty.

Now, please don’t ask us for a Novice prediction as we have not a baldy who is riding. WE will report when we see the results (at the same time you do)

Thanks to all the boys who will mark the event and we hope the weather will be kind . Fantastic going when it is dry( ish) but needs concentration on the ruts and roots .
