2014 FIM International ISDE – 6 Days of Enduro in Argentina


General Info and how it all started back in the day :

The FIM International Six Days of Enduro (ISDE) is the event most important Enduro motorcycling worldwide where national teams competing testing the reliability of the bikes and the skill of the pilots. The first time I ran was in 1913 in Great Britain and 101 years after the category disembark in Argentina, as part of its 89 th edition.

The ISDE event oldest motorcycle sports, consisting of six intense days of competition, each participating country has a team of six riders from different categories, who will compete to score the most points in the tests to be presented and so keep the crown.

Over the years this event has been attended by more than 45 nations that have made a figure of over 500 international elite pilots, who must cope with special rules and time restrictions which make mechanical changes by themselves during the unparalleled evidence.

There are 5 categories at the annual meeting:
FIM World Trophy: Each National Federation must enroll five or six drivers, which must belong to at least three different classes.
FIM Junior World Trophy: Each National Federation may score a team of three or four riders under 23 years. Competitors must be at least two different classes. Students enrolled in this class may not participate in the FIM World Trophy.
FIM Women’s World Trophy: Every Motorcycle Federation of registered countries may include a team of two or three women. Classes are free for participants.
Club Team Award: Each Motorcycling Federation may enter one or more teams with teams of three riders.
Manufacturer’s Team Award: Each builder can choose a team of three drivers of any nationality, any motorcycle driving, provided that they are all the same brand.

So you might consider doing it next year ? As the date and place is set in Europe – Slovakia I guess.

The classes involved:

Enduro 1: 100cc to 125cc (2-stroke) and de175cc to 250cc (4-stroke)

Enduro 2: 175cc to 250cc (2-stroke) and 290cc to 450cc (4-stroke)

Enduro 3: 290cc to 500cc of (2-stroke) and 475cc to 650cc (4-stroke)

Some relevant data ISDE

Britain is the nation winning the international competition with 16 titles to his credit, one more than the former Czechoslovakia, which totals 15. The British team last won in 1953. Meanwhile, the first victory of the Czechs was 1947 and the last in 1982.

Third, completing the podium winning the “selection” of Italy with 14 gold is located. Further back are the teams of Finland (8), France (7) and Sweden (5).

Originally the competition was called the International Six Days of Trial (ISDT). Since 1981, the word “Enduro” was adopted and renamed as it is known to this day, International Six Days of Enduro (ISDE). In 1985 the second category mentioned Silver Vase stopped and was named Junior World Trophy.
The first edition was held in 1913 in Britain, and only in 2003 crossed the continent to reach Latin America for the first time since its inception, with the headquarters at that time to Brazil, more specifically in Fortaleza.

Then in 2007 he returned to South America to stay in La Serena, Chile, and in 2010 competed in Morelia, Mexico. In 2014, for the fourth time in the Latin American continent, Argentina will host the most important event of the Enduro motorcycling country.

In the edition held in Chilean territory first introduced the category for women: Women`s Trophy, which was won by the US team. The following five issues remained in command of the pilots native France.
