Gordon Clarke and Brian Mc Girr will travel to Wales this weekend to take part in the UK Baja Rallye series held in the Hafren forest on a route similar to that used for the UK round if the WRC.
This is by way if training for the upcoming Merzouga African rally and will give the lads some more roadbook training if not the GPS stuff.
The event has attracted a very large entry as this branch of ‘Enduro’ has grown and grown in popularity with both a full Rallye bike class and a Rallye lite , the latter a basic Enduro bike with a roadbook fitted.
Such events can have very high speed sections with the bigger bikes and faster riders clocking 160 k plus ….. Need to keep between the ditches.
Interesting to see how they get on …… Brian will be on his husky 450 lite and is a very good navigator and steady rider. Gordon is riding a full on TM 450 Rallye bike and whilst perhaps not up to Brian’s skill with the road book has buckets of skill and can twist the throttle. Provided Gordon does not miss the turns expect him to be a Joker in the pack.
