Five laps, a long test, tight check times and a thunderstorm thrown in for good measure made for an interesting event at Mt. Leinster last Sunday where the results were determined by both the tests and the check times for most classes. We await results but with one expert clean on time, a senior with a 2 minute loss it seems certain that Josh Gotts ( TM ) and Paul Walsh ( KTM) were victorious in the expert and senior categories. Gotts from Cornwall and a member of the UK junior trophy team travelled to use the event as training for next weekend’s world round in Belgium and duly showed some impressive pace. Equally impressive was Harold Crawford ( GG ) losing only 1 minute on time missing the clock by a mere 10 seconds. Harold continues to show the soles to the younger guys. “a really good race with almost perfect times and a long test … great “ said Harold . Gotts “That was good, a proper time card event and a fantastic work out despite the rain. We don’t get too many time card events and that was proper “.
Former champion Paul MC Laughlin made an impressive comeback probably taking third spot with Dave Mc Nulty suffering brake problems following an argument with a rock. Marvin Silverthorn ( KTM ) and Paul Whyte ( KTM) will fill the podium of the senior class ….the order will be confirmed later. They both stuck to the task.
Test times show Michael Tobin ( KTM) and Eoin MC Hugh ( HVA) in pole for the clubman and Sportsmen classes but again we await the check times to finalise. This would be MC Huge first victory should he be clean on the course.
