It is some 40 years since the Mec club hosted a scrambles event in the pipers town pit at Aghfarrell . It rained that day and a good old fashioned scramble was definately the Order of the day .
Add the forty years two additional adjacent fields and the fastlane club were on hand to host a longcrossAnd we hear a good one . This time no rain on the day despite a downpour all Saturday night . The track held up well despite all the rain and definately got better as the day wore on.
Following the clubs format of two races of 120 duration there were winners but not many losers including the children’s hospital for which the event was run . Experts was win by mx star Jim Oneill following a race. . long dual with Gordon Clarke to end when Gordon broke a footpeg . Stephen tracey Won the senior , michael tobin The clubman and eamonn blake The sportsman . Overall though it was enjoyed by almost all . The club wish to thank the landowners . Marshall’s .
