Pat MC ERLANE Ballinderry Enduro

“Results are provisional until finally approved “

Given the conditions, the time losses, the lost cards, protests, queries it is unsurprising it has taken some to finally compile the Pat MC results.
From what we understand John Mc Cann takes the Clubman win for the new perpetual trophy for which we are sure he is very pleased and congratulation to John. Kevin Browne and Sean Tobin were also clean on time following John Home.
At the top end, Davy Mc Nulty continued with his winning ways from last season and was once again followed home by Harold Crawford, once again showing ability beats age (!), with Mervyn Griffin finally coming to terms with enduro, finishing what was a hard event on the podium. Mervyn has ability now he has learned some of the rules and how to ride enduro as against MX.
Given the conditions, in the seniors, some more experienced bodies came to the fore in what was a long day for that class. Bernard MC Kevitt swopped his spanners to ride and headed the timing sheets. Dr Paul Whyte clocked in second and had he not stopped at the check to check his time he would likely have won, unfortunately a second is a minute at the check. John Lynch likes the hard going and proved it with a fine third place.
The sportsmen had a very difficult task; three laps around Ballinderry in such conditions proved beyond most but there were many who made a great attempt at completion but only Garry Quinn completed the course within the allocated time. He is the winner.
The COC and the Club have stated that the sportsmen had a very difficult task with conditions under wheel worsening a lot going into the final lap. As some riders had gone through it was not possible to alter the route as other classed were also still riding. The next event will be eased off for Sportman.
Given the conditions and despite them the event ran well, was well received so thanks to all who participated and all who helped to mark out and take down the route. Some members were back out this Sunday to strip the forest of arrows. It has to be done.
