The port of Douglas and the iconic TT grandstand form the backdrop for Round 2 of the Bec Enduro . Yes it’s August and this is only round 2 following the cancellation of the original round 2 and 3 for diverse reasons .
Not sure ( but will find out) if there has ever been a BEC event on the Isle of Man before , a ISDE yes ( just remember that one) a 2 day man Enduro yes but a BEC ?
It’s looking good though , the paddock is the TT paddock and all the facilities are there . There are two tests per day a fast ish MX test on a hate and hound track and a full on forest Enduro test . They have done mega work on the latter , cutting away branches and trees to make a clean if technical run . It will be physical .
8 hours in the saddle for the top boys and 7 for the lesser lights will be a hard day and we guess the going may not be easy and will be tight . All will be revealed .
Michael Tobin is starting his maiden overseas (!) event and there is a scattering of MRA riders headed by Kenny Williams . A good crew . Stuart Edmonds is a non starter with a recently broken foot .
It’s an early start tomorrow . Can knighter get some form back in his own back yard or will he continue to struggle against the new young guns . We spoke to David earlier today and he is suffering with a broken hip bone but he said not to write him off . We won’t .
