#**+^>><~\~}{]><>>> was how Paul described the second test , all of which are not repeatable outside the 9 pm cut off . He took to examining the ground again at close quarters and you could say he was unhappy with the fast but now very wet grass test . The same test proved almost unrideable for some struggling to ride the very slippy hills . No such problems for the 3 amigos .
The service crews ( thanks to the ACU ) are selling tickets for the MC Carthy show … They love him and his boundless humour . He is a tonic and a laugh a minute in a very good way … Always happy Good humoured and riding well to boot . Simon and John are not far behind so the ticket price is going up . Mad .? Maybe a little
Simon is the only man wearing knee pads on the outside of his jeans telling those who ask ( and they did) he is a tiler by trade and has to protect his skin from a rash . Simon also maintains he has the biggest b. S in the event being the only rider to drop off the 60 foot step unaided , and that was without the bike ! Fair play though he has pushed on all day in very trying conditions and himself and John deserve great credit . Tyre changing is a doddle too … Must have practised .
John is big into yoga and when unseen this morning at departure time he was found under the bed in some sort of contorted pose … John maintains it is good and who are we to argue.
The 3 still running and Happy boys tonight , very happy and looking forward to tomorrow … Warmer dryer weather is forecast with the same route as today perhaps with the 60 foot drop deleted for everyone except our Simon . Cameras at the ready please.
Enduro .ie are in great company this few days , Matty a good Kerry man speaks perfect Spanish and in this area perfect basque as well , quite a different language . Obviously we are well received wherever we go .
Currently there is a big debate at the dinner table , Simon maintains he has beaten Paul in a test today with John only 2 seconds behind …..better we don’t get involved in that one tonight … We are of course impartial .
Either way. Well done to them , they are doing us all proud .
