And it’s hot. In trouble there it’s likely not even the great RTT would be able to assist. We are told 90% of TAT riders skip this section to avoid the possibility to be stuck out in the wilderness , no shade , no water and likely no other travellers . Even Africa had the odd nomad, not here, nothing, zilch. It’s a bit eerie. Mick was a little concerned, the 690 had a hiccup every now and then, nothing to worry about but it does play on your mind. He ran ahead so Nick could follow. Despite the desert conditions the views are awesome particularly the last 30 miles exiting the desert through the canyons, the walls seeming to look down on you like the stands at a march. Finally out, Mick stopped at the road, right at the road; the bike had stopped would not fire . How lucky was that and only 1 mile from castle deal a push away. 100 or 50 miles back we had a real problem. Phew. A thunderstorm broke as we wheeled in to the shelter of a garage top. Later problem traced to faulty wire. The continual change goes on, in the morning it was 40 deg, by the time we reached Castle Deal it was wet and 17 deg. strange old places. Point north again towards N. Utah and the salt flats 🌥
