It’s a mind thing, and the mind can be a funny place at times. Nevada, had not seen that one coming, once out of the Utah desert the mind was at ease to a great extent. No more vast tranches of wilderness…. wrong, I had not figured on Nevada and more wilderness Nothingness. Hot barren. Back to the mind games, will we puncture again, will the bike stop, the more you think about not falling off the more likely it becomes. Mick had a very big moment on a series of wash outs, only his own skill saved a very, very nasty crash. Everything 5 feet in the air at one time all pointing in the wrong direction. Well done to him. Eased off we covered the 190 miles to camp only to find no camp. A sigh said there was a spring, maybe in spring there may be but not in July.
Too hot to camp out with the next town scheduled 65 miles into Nevada. Could be a nothing town. Late, getting cooler we pushed on. A camp was finally found some 70 miles later. 😊
and back along the trail, in Ephraim, Robby Layton dropped everything to weld my NAV tower. Proper job too … thanks Robby you get the gold star ⭐for being just. Good person. John Lynch due to join us on Simon’s bike tonight. Soon out of this heat I hope
