Contrast … now there’s a thing, we have found it wherever we went; different people: black, white, Hispanic; different living: big houses 🏡. , shacks and old rev trailers; scenery… flat, mountainous, desert, corn fields; rain and scorching sun ☀. Contrasts. The last 24 hours have been that, all different. Camped in American falls after passing through the corn 🌽 fields of Idaho, green grasslands. We expected more of the same as we moved north … wrong once again, am it poured rain ☔ on grassy tracks then almost immediately turned to desert like conditions. Hot, dusty rocky twisty trails where the lights kept going out from the dust clouds thrown up from johns wheels. Hang back a half mile before it would clear. Hard ride to Arco another non town off the freeway, dreary 😔, dusty. Outside it changes again to mountainous terrain. Three riders on the trail travelling the wrong direction ‘ been in there for 7 hours, cannot get through ‘ was the prognosis. Hell they said. They went back to Arco. We can see the rain clouds gathering. Radar Mick is on it immediately, we can run 20 miles on road and may outrun the storm, cut back and try run the valley ‘ worth a try. We did, ran into a monster thunder and hail storm, enough to almost pull you off the bike, scary stuff for 30 minutes and then, contrast, sun valley. Sun out, ran down to a very exclusive looking ski resort, San Moritz of the USA. Outside our camp budget! Just Another tat day.😯
