OREGON, we did not know what to expect but somehow in that old mind ( again) we sort of thought that as the last state , like the last day on a 6 day or a Rallye the trails would be flowing and ‘easy’ …, wrong, wrong yet again . This part of Oregon is miles of tree populated plunging valleys, Austrian style only more and dry. Rugged like all of west USA we have seen the trails are rock infested, gnarly and dusty which hangs in the forest trees. Here the dirt roads are that horrible quarry gravel, put there for the Ram 4 x4 with 3 foot tyres not 2 wheeled stuff . Every corner is a fight, and then the wash boards take over….. dr dr dr dr . ‘That was horrible ‘ Mick’s impression of our 260 mile jaunt. Maybe we took on too much this time .., adding the loop we missed last evening to bring JOHN down to a town put 110 miles to our target. A lot on twisty tracks. It is another 190 miles closer to our destination that is good. Road JOHN (hand looking pretty swollen) had the beer 🍻 ready.
