The weather played havoc with many sporting events but the CTR, Fastlane MCCÂ Enduro training went ahead almost as planned. Saturday was surprisingly warm fitting in with lots of riding , none too easy. Rocks, roots, up hills, downhills; plenty of crashes as the assembled riders tried very hard to master the obstacles. The standard was good; Tiley was impressed with the commitment as was many times Irish champion Adrian Lappin also imparting words of wisdom and encouragement.
Sunday looked impossible however once inside the forests at shank hill the under wheel going was excellent. A lesson on goggle preparation was the only limiting factor to many participants. Those who did venture up the Wicklow mountains were met by a wall of snow stopping that idea in its tracks. Nevertheless the main work had been done. In a strange way the conditions may have added to the experience.
Few videos from the training days :
Thanks to all riders, Carl Tiley, Adrian Lappin, Ian Kelly and all who assisted.
It was fun.
