Snowed off 2 weeks ago the west Cork ( at that secret location) Rallye was rescheduled for Paddy’s weekend; it was well worth the wait … once again a brilliant 180 km loop around W. Cork and Kerry including on this occasion a Marshalled run through Killarney National park… not something that can happen every day. Half grass in middle roads, half off road, some technical enough made for the great loop it was … well done to Luc and Co,Don for the BBQ lunch (another first) and to Prof W for setting a scorching pace. Some day, there may be a speed gun on them back roads!
Now held under the IMMC banner, a club that dates back to running their first enduro in 1979 in Glenmalure, following from the first event run in 78 by the D and D club this event followed the tradition of running good events. The Mills Inn ( at that secret location ) adds to the atmosphere, Paddy’s day, Grand Slam and all.
If you want good, this is it.
Thanks to all involved ..Luc, Don and Co.
West Cork Rallye … Postscript
A big well done to those folk who braved the elements to ride back from hence they came in appalling conditions … 280 km in driving snow and minus 2. Eamon M piloted a Ducati multi s in the very worst of the weather and provided the running forecast for those following. Thanks Eamon.
Believe it was very bad, hard guys knuckle down.
