Rosscarbery, West Cork was the venue for the 2018 Turkey run, moved from its stately home in Kilfenora, Clare to this new location.
Under the very capable stewardship of Daithi Wright, a local in the area this turned out to be a brilliant event, Rain notwithstanding. Daithi followed his tried and tested formula, find the little red discs placed in obscure far-flung places from cork to Skibbereen using only back roads and some interesting overgrown lanes, deep ford crossings with a time schedule this year no one could beat. Bikes sliding to a halt at the finish with seconds to spare was the testament to how hard many tried to beat the map. Some went east, others west to try to minimise the time to find those allusive discs. It takes a lot of time and effort to develop such a route so big thanks to Daithi for doing so. Endless weekends no doubt.
Ros was a great success, we wonder will it return to Clare or stay in Cork. Either way, it will be well supported, deservedly so.
Thanks from all riders …
