It’s the season ender for the AMA Endurocross as one of the most exciting and explosive race series rolls into Las Vegas with all guns blazing. All eyes will very much focused on run away championship leader KTM’s Taddy Blazusiak as he will attempt to not only lock down the Endurocross championship but do it in style by claiming the perfect season. Having won every round of the championship so far, Taddy will face his biggest challenge yet as the Expert class will race two main events in Las Vegas providing the perfect twist to an already action packed season. Taddy has dominated EnduroCross the past two seasons but winning every event will be a tough task even for Blazusiak. Mike Brown, his KTM teammate still has a mathematical shot at the title but he will need to get his first win to have any chance of stealing the crown. And GEICO Honda’s Geoff Aaron has won a race each of the last two years and he too will be fighting to keep that streak alive. Making his debut in Endurocross will be British rider Johnny Walker. The KTM backed rider has put together an incredible season, third in the mighty extreme Erzberg Enduro, second at the Red Bull’s Sky to Sea in Turkey along with Gold medals in the ISDE, Walker will be hoping he too can his presence felt under the lights of Vegas.

For those that fail to make the cut for the Expert main, they still have a chance to take home a big pot of cash but will race for it in the dark! The Baja Designs night race is a must see and will again take place at this weekend’s GEICO AMA EnduroCross Finals, presented by Lucas Oil. The Baja 1000 and other desert races are best known for night racing with high performance lighting systems guiding the way. For this special event, the expert riders that just miss qualifying for the double main events from the Last Chance Qualifiers will be invited to mount up Baja Designs battery powered Diablo light kits and race with the Orleans Arena lights turned off. They will duke it out for the $500 winner take all prize.
Having opened the series at the X-Games back in May, the Freegun Underwear backed Women’s class returns to bring together the largest and most talented field of women ever to compete on an EnduroCross course. When the women were given their own class at the X Games Enduro X, some were critical of their performance but the crowd gave them the standing ovations that they deserved. And now more top female riders have stepped up to the challenge. For the Open Amateur, TrialsCross and Vet class racers that have earned a chance to compete with top finishes at the regional qualifiers, this will be their opportunity to with the coveted AMA Grand Championships of EnduroCross.
