The TORC MCC got their 2012 season under way with their annual Hare and Hound at Tinahealy, near Gorey, Co. Wexford on Sunday March 11.
HTM Husaberg’s Phillip Caldwell made the trip to Tinahealy a triumphant one as he rode to a convincing Expert class victory. Topping the standings with 11 laps to his credit, Caldwell comfortably placed ahead of Seamus Hayes and Seamus Muldoon.
In Seniors, Paul McCann also clocked in 11 laps to grab the win. Rounding out the opening lap in fifth, McCann quickly upped his pace to overhaul race leader David Crean and claim a strong win. After rounding out the opening lap in front, Crean eventually hung on to finish second behind McCann. Jonny Mercier completed the top three.
In Clubman Merlin Silverthorn was the winner almost one lap clear of Colm McHugh in second with Oisin Roe in third.
Pat Bourke claimed the Sportsman win while Cormac Roe won the Novice class.
