Friday Report: the Merzouga Rallye 2014 : Dublin to Morocco

Dublin to Marrakesh to Erfurt in South Morocco – Brian, Vincent, Nick and Barry O’Shea aka Horse Box and Mayor of Bartlemy Cork arrived late on Friday pm. An early start today Friday to pick up the bikes and make ready for a first practice run out of Erfurt to Merzouga and the big dunes. Brian and Vincent are like kids waiting for a Christmas present are up and ready despite some good ”Tullamore Dew” last evening. Brian: ”Can’t wait to get over that first dune. Once I do that I will be find and dandy.” Vincent: ”Maybe I will transfer to the pro class instead of the experts he wonders leaving the Parc Ferme for the dunes.”

Enduro .ie thinks he may change his mind when he sees the Chebbi Erg! (Erg Chebbi is one of Morocco’s two Saharan ergs – large seas of dunes formed by wind-blown sand). More later on that.

The Mayor of Barteny Barry is out on road with Nick. Barry is nicknamed Horse Box when traveling to Cork with a box and horse Barry did not realise the ramp had dropped down en route . The horse was never seen again. True.
