Saturday is administration day and the boys were first on the schedule at 8.30 am. Passports, insurance, licences, log books, etc . If you don’t have it you are not riding full stop. No arguments. It takes 2 hours.
Mount the GPS and safety equipment and on to scrutiny . No problem except they insisted that 3 l water had to fixed to the bike so it was a scurry to jemmy some sort of carrier to satisfy the scrutineer.
The sun is beating down as they go out again for a practice before entering Parc Ferme . First hurdles over .
A day of rest now awaiting the prologue tomorrow.
Yamaha and Gas Gas withdrew their riders at the last minute but Stefan Peter Hansel is here mentoring Johnny Aubert as is Deny Philippaerts, (brother of the Motocross World Champion David), from MotoX to rallying . Boano Racing has a large Beta team with Deny as lead rider.
It will be interesting now with the top Yamaha riders not competing .Tonight the route will be released for both pro and experts and the nerves will no doubt start.
