The Club apologise to riders for the late cancellation of Sundays rerun , rerun , rerun Longcross series.
AS always, we check the aeronautical weather the day and night before all events. At 1200 Pm on Saturday we were scheduled to have 1mm of rain between -0600 and 0800 Sunday. Not a lot in the scheme of things and the land and track were bone dry.
We never expected the deluge of rain that started at 0300 . Brian Mc Girr got out of his cot in Fermanagh at 0530( Thanks Brian ) to look at the satellite image and advised Athone was under a storm with snow forcast ! . Given that information and the incessant rain we had no option but to cancel early am and try get the information out to riders before they went on the road . Early in other words. With the exception of 5 we succeeded and we did offer those riders who turned up to ride as the wished and 3 did ……
We did our best.
So now we are advised that TORC will not be running on the 19 Th and they have agreed we can take up that date, so we will try one last time ( subject to ambulance / timekeepers) to finish the series next Sunday 19TH.
The track has been left up so all we need is weather ……
