Although I won Clubman, the jump up to it was a big step plus I struggled with a shoulder injury midway through the season that left me needing an operation. Halfway through a race my shoulder popped out and I ended up putting it back in three times…

Young McGinn may well yet be one of the best finds of this series. Winning the opening round of the championship could easily be judged as a stroke of luck but McGinn was back again for round two and didn’t fail to disappoint.

And so the end is near, but first they must face the final curtain. The marathon that is the ISDE is nearing conclusion and our hardy Irish men have reached Day 5 in what has been a tortuous slog of a week… kinda like the good auld days of Mt Leinster, only sandy and for five days straight! But what doesn’t kill ya can only make you stronger and after gutting out over 1500km in the last few days…
