NEW MOTOCROSS TEAM LAUNCH AT ADELAIDE INSURANCE MOTORCYCLE FESTIVAL

This weekend Adelaide Insurance Motorcycle Festival at the Kings Hall Belfast sees the launch of a new Motocross Team to contest the MCUI Irish and MRA Ulster Motocross Championships.

Suitor Brothers Racing, owned by long time enthusiasts Ricky and Rowley Suitor, will be campaigning KTM machinery supplied by Norman Watt Motorcycles in the Ulster and Irish Championships in 2012, and will have support from new sponsors from outside the Motocross Industry, and exciting development in Irish Motocross.

The impressive list of sponsors include, Norman Watt Motorcycles, Fox clothing, Risk Racing Europe, Polisport Plastics, Putoline Oils, RFX Filters, Dunlop Tyres and MXM who have produced the impressive new Graphics. Ex Irish and Ulster Champion, David White is also providing assistance to the team.

Sponsors outside the motocross industry include, Body Tech Collision Repair, Bore A Hole Civil Engineers, Contac Claims, Spanesi Automotive Equipment, Spiess Hacker, automotive paint supplies, Ophir Motors Dundrod, Ford parts specialists, Moneyreagh Recovery and Van Sales, and DP Contracts.

Team riders are equally impressive, leading the team is reigning Ulster Open Champion and Motocross of Nations Team member in 2011, Lisburns Richard Bird, the quiet man of Irish Motocross has found the best form of his life over the last few years and will be out to defend his Championship against stiff opposition.

Richard will be supported by reigning Ulster Under 21 Champion Drew Gowdy from Carrickfergus, Drew won his title after a huge yearlong battle, and now that he has mastered the big bikes, he will be a strong threat in both the Ulster and Irish Championships.

Backing up these two, will be long time Championship rider, Niall McCauley, also from Carrickfergus, and returning from injury after two years out, Phil Harris from Saintfield, both these riders are capable competitors who are regulars on the scene and will be an able back up to the two Champion teammates.

Away from the Premier class, the team will also be supporting young riders, Mark Patterson, from Crossgar, his neighbour Steven Gill and Jonathan O’Neill from Ballynahinch, and the old warhorse of the team in Bangor’s John Guy, who will be running in the Clubman’s class.

The team will be competing in the Ulster and Irish Championships as well as the popular Carrickfergus Club Grasstrack series in 2012, they are an exciting addition to the Irish Motocross scene, and the enthusiasm and passion for the sport shown by the Suitor brothers will be a refreshing addition to the paddock during the year.
