It has been repeated here many times ; land for time card Enduros European wide is increasingly difficult to find or hold onto . Environmentalists , walkers ,some foresters and now even mountain bikers ( who use the trails we open) all conspire against our Enduro fraternity. Killavullen is one of TORC,s longest established venues and it is a very fair if not so easy test for man and machine . It is long , rocky in places ( lots of) but for 2016 it was again well marked , well laid out and with two different and good tests ; the best Parc Ferme with full facilities and all the stuff you get in a town . Pubs , restaurants . Nothing more could be asked for ; some new young faces on the organising side ( much needed) , new going and weather that was reasonably kind . The rain added to the grit in the ground but probably helped the going with a little give in the otherwise hard ground . Entries are no longer what they once were ( 110+) but a good field nonetheless to enjoy the weekend.
A large contingent from the MRA made the journey and that is good to see ….despite the fact that there are virtually no time card Enduros in the northern federation there does seem to be an increasing number of riders in the MRA . Great.
Results are not to hand but will be published ASAP.
Thanks to Niall , Colm , Liam , George and all the S bag members . Job done and well done.
