TORC BACK ON SONG at MT. LEINSTER

The older I get the faster I was crew Good to see them all out and about

The older I get the faster I was crew. Good to see them all out and about…

COC Liam Kelly and crew following two cancelled events finally opened the time card enduro season at Bunclody for the traditional MT Leinster event. It was well attended with some 90 + riders taking the start at 11.00 including many newcomers to a time card event. The crew had laid out a two-check event one to the south forest and one to the north including a 6-minute test which cut up more than the going. Given that there was some road to each check, they were slack on time; most riders having no difficulty with the times set traversing the road sections with care to avoid any problems with neighbours or the law!

Nice touch Start or End

Nice touch. Start or end ?

Interestingly, the Experts class included Jordan Scott, current champion Angus Leonard, former champion Dave MC Nulty, Danny Connelly and Mike Tobin. Jordan, arguable Irelands best all-round Off-Road rider as expected claimed the top spot with Danny and Angus running within seconds for Danny to finally bag a well-earned runner up 11 seconds ahead of Angus. Like Jordan, Keith Browne was gone and clear in the Seniors with Jamie Cahill, Conor Dunne much closer in the final podium positions.

Sean Maher again claimed the Clubman whilst Kevin Slattery edged out Shane Rothwell for 2nd and 3rd. Colm Tracy blitzed the sportsman followed home by Donald Gleeson and young Lennon Kelly.

Job well done to the TORC crew … it is good to be back.
