It’s hot out there…

It’s all change st the top where the young guns in the form of Steve Holmcome traded blows with the now much older and experienced Salvini and Chris Nambotin pushing it right to the final super test before the final result was assured. It almost defies logic that after 2 days and 3 hours of tests only 0.23 of a second seperated the top 3 riders. Nambotin enjoying a new lease on the now resurgent GG. Philips one of the paddocks most liked riders and a double World Champion looked a bit out of sorts but as always put on the best show for the spectators. Salvini pulled out a fantastic final super test to leap frog from 3 rd to the win .. a double for the weekend, no doubt the bank manager will like that.

It’s been another hot and hard day, breathless in the woods draining the energy levels, sweaty gloves blistering the hands. Many dropped out.
The class changes for 18 has definitely brought in new juniors but the ewc remains much less of a participant event then it was … no doubt the top riders ( less 2 or 3 ) are here; the loss is the smaller private rider teams that made up the b paddock to be a vibrant entity. To succeed long term those riders need to be encouraged to return. Sure they will not figure in the results but they add soul to the event.

Estonia hosts the next EWC round … that will be different…
